Next year’s proposed school calendar includes a full week for Thanksgiving/Fall Break. The complete calendar includes:
- Labor Day, September 7
- Veteran’s Day, November 11
- Fall Break/Thanksgiving, November 23-27
- Christmas Break: December 21-January 1
- MLK Day: January 18
- Spring Break: March 29-April 2
- Memorial Day: May 31
The proposed first day of school is August 24, and the last day of school is proposed to be June 7.
The school district is conducting a survey for input on the calendar. To complete the survey, first read the calendar requirements by clicking here, then click here for the survey.

public school should start where it can have first semester finished and exams out of the way by christmas break. it is very difficult to come back after cristmas break to take exams. second semester shoud start after christmas. if we start school in this maner it will still give 10 weeks for summer break. spring break should be around easter.
JUNE 7th – - SERIOUSLY. I thought May 31st was bad. Sounds like they just want to keep the schools open year-round. I hope everyone does go and fill out the survey. They would prefer we sit back quietly, so don’t give them what they want. So far I am NOT loving the new school board, if this is some of their brilliant planning.
It doesn’t matter what we say, they are going to do just exactly what they want to do anyway.
