Area Resident Killed In Old Atmore Road Accident Near Flomaton Monday Night

A local man was killed in a single vehicle accident Monday night about two miles west of Flomaton.
The victim was identified as Miles Brewster Cunningham, 25, of Highway 31 Atmore. He was ejected from his 2007 GMC pickup truck in the rollover accident about 7:45 Monday night on Old Atmore Road. Authorities say Cunningham was westbound on Old Atmore Road when he left the roadway and flipped his truck between Tom Shivers Road and Christian Road. The truck landed upright in a driveway just off the road.
Cunningham was ejected from the vehicle; authorities say he was not wearing his seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no passengers in the truck.
The Flomaton Fire Department, Escambia County (AL) Sheriff’s Department, the Century Station of Escambia Fire Rescue and the Alabama State Troopers were dispatched to the call.
The accident is still under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
Old Atmore Road is about one half mile north of the Alabama-Florida border.

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you and I won’t be able to see you for a while but I just want to say I miss you and love you more than you could ever imagine. I have known Miles for about 3 years now.. he was always the life of the party and cared about all of his friends. He always made jokes and tried to make people laugh.. I’ll never forget one night we were at a bon-fire on his family farm and my husband got his dodge stuck in the mud trying to get out there and Miles pulled him out with his chevy… then Miles laughed and said, “dang John, you shoulda got a chevy!” lol.. He always loved a chevy. Anyways, another time we were at my father-in-law’s house and Miles was eating Hardee’s and I said I was hungry, so he gave me his fries.. lol I know that sounds silly, but it means alot to me looking back… I know he would have given the shirt off his back for any of his friends if it came down to it…just out of the kindness of his heart.
Miles, John & I miss you soo much.. we’ll never forget you & all the great times we had together.. We’ve even decided that when we have kids, we’re going to name our son after you. I know you’d be tickled.. lol You were one of our closest friends and you meant a lot to us. We know you’re resting high on that mountain, and when you’re not resting, you’re mud riding in your chevrolet, lol
