Highway 168 Brush Fire

Fire units from Walnut Hill and Century responded to a brush fire on Highway 168 Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported just after 1 p.m. Monday behind two mobile homes on Highway 168 between Wiggins Road and Wawbeek Road. It was reported to be burning over an area about five acres in size.

Authorities say the fire began with a trash fire that got out of control. There were no injuries, and there was no property damage.

Fire units from the Walnut Hill and Century stations of Escambia Fire Rescue, Engine 519 and the Florida Division of Forestry responded to the call.
