NWE Midgets Beat Myrtle Grove, Advances To Round Two Of Playoffs

The Northwest Escambia Midgets beat Bellview 36-0 to advance to the second round of the Gulf Coast Youth Alliance Football tournament.

NWE avenged a regular season defeat to Bellview with a strong running performance by Dalton Daniel. Daniel had three touchdown runs of 60, 54 and six yards, and finished with a total of 231 yards.

Brannon Freeman intercepted a Bellview pass and returned it 34 yards for a TD.

Next week, NWE (7-2) travels back to to Myrtle Grove to face a tough 8-1 Milton team.

    Great job boys! I can’t wait to see this bunch at Northview. I’ve only got to watch them a few times, but when I have; I’ve been impressed.I think they have about 15 or 16 players compared to 35 or 40 on the teams they play. To me these boys play hard and are well discplined. Also I would like to compliment the coaching these kids are receiving. Some of the plays they run and defenses they get into shows they are coached the right way! I mean, the offense would audible at the line of scrimmage when they saw a hole in the defense and this is just 12 year old boys. The defense would do the same and made some great, hard tackles!! Good look next week against Milton!!!
