Molino Park Elementary School honored veterans Thursday night with a musical program entitled “United We Stand”.

The fourth grade classes of Mrs. Garrett, Mrs. Kent, Mrs. Madrill, Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Nelson presented the program that included patriotic songs like “You’re a Grand Old Flag”, “My Country ’tis of Thee” and “America the Beautiful”.  The program included a salute to veterans and a moving song “American Tears”.

The evening also wrapped up a 10 day canned food drive for the Manna Food Bank that netted over 1,600 cans of food. The first place award for the most food collected went to Ms. Doyle’s class, second to Ms. Greene’s class and third to Ms. Hatch’s class.

This was a TREASURE to watch and to know our children are being taught about what is going on in the world and around us ,yes my son is in Mrs. Kent’s class at M.P.E. It’s amazing to see these children do something so caring >My son Austin wanted his Grandaddy to come ,unfortunatley he was not able to be there ,and his PAPA has already passed ,Austin never knew him I tell him stories he was U.S.Navy I also know they both as well as the whole Molino Park Staff And Community this program will be a memory for a very long time. It touched me in so many ways. Thanks to you all for a beautiful memory to treasure and also to North Escambia for what you do! Parent M.P.E. Annette
