Could You Parallel Park A Fire Truck?

It’s was driver’s ed on a large scale Saturday morning at Ernest Ward Middle School as two area fire stations held emergency vehicle driver’s training.

The Walnut Hill and McDavid stations of Escambia County Fire-Rescue held the driver’s course in the parking lot at the school, giving the volunteers that drive the 55,000 plus pound trucks a chance to polish their skills.

From navigating through a maze of orange traffic cones, to backing straight into a small area within a foot of cones, volunteers had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.

Looks like good training for the men. I got mine navigating Christmas traffic on ninth ave. running 10-18 in a ladderplatform. It keeps you on your toes and the gray in your hair. Good job guys , glad you’re here for us.
