FHP Plans Checkpoint On Highway 97
July 10, 2008
The Florida Highway Patrols says that it is planning a driver’s license and vehicle safety checkpoint somewhere on Highway 97 between Friday of this week and Thursday of next week.
Recognizing the danger presented to the public by defective vehicle equipment, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated with defects such as bad brakes, worn tires and defective lighting equipment. In addition, attention will be directed to drivers who would violate the driver license laws of Florida.
The patrol has found these checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing the equipment and driver license laws of Florida while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

everyone in molino better obey them speeding signs, they are there for a reason…not to stare at them and laugh,ha ha ha”i’m not going to go this slow”.people speed all the time on this road and this is dangerous! but the bad part of this check point…the fhp won’t be doing this all the time….those people will continue to run normal driver’s over and speed…so i think its just a “quota”thing that fhp and the molino sherriff’s are doing.
I agree, people drive entirely too fast on hwy 97 and most are drunk. The law also needs to look at the barrineau park creek area and get the Al.law officers to help because there is alot of drinking down there.I believe alot of under age drinking.
I think it’s great!!! Maybe those crazy drivers
on 97 will slow down to recognize the law!!
