Free Trees For Arbor Day

Escambia County Neighborhood and Environmental Services Department will celebrate Arbor Day by giving away 175 six to eight foot canopy trees. Tree varieties include southern magnolia, savannah holly, and live oak.

The give-a-way will start at 10 a.m. Arbor Day, Friday, January 18 at the Escambia County Equestrian Center located at 7750 Mobile Hwy. One seven-gallon tree will be available to the first 175 Escambia County citizens. Participants must bring a vehicle capable of transporting trees of this size and proof of Escambia County residence. Citizens are asked to take only one tree per household.

The tree giveaway is part of a grant-funded program from the USDA Forest Service and Florida Division of Forestry.
